~ Leave wrapping on for 12-24 hours, it’s important that the wrapping isn’t taken off the same day as tattooing in order to minimise risk of infection.
~ When taking off the wrapping it is a good idea to do it in the shower as there may be some excess ink on the surface of your skin which is normal so don’t panic your tattoo hasn’t smudged!
~ While in the shower it’s best to not let the shower head hit the fresh tattoo directly but instead wet your hand and wipe the tattoo until clean.
~ You can use a light soap on your fresh tattoo but make sure it’s fragrance free to avoid irritation (baby soap, sensitive skin soap etc).
~ Once out of the shower pat dry with a clean towel.
~ Apply a thin amount of E45 2-3 times daily until healed.
~ It is normal for the tattoo to flake and peal like a sunburn during the healing process and it’s important to let the skin heal without picking or scratching even though they can get itchy while healing.
~ Do not soak the fresh tattoo in the bath or go swimming for around 2 weeks or until the tattoo is healed as this can cause some of the pealing skin to come off prematurely and can result in ink dropping out of the tattoo.
~ Avoid sun beds while the tattoo is healing.
~ Try to keep the tattoo out of the sun while healing and even once healed it’s a good idea to put sun block on the tattoo to keep it as fresh as possible.
